This painting has Santa Fe colors, texture, collage and loose sweeping gestures. The neutral grey tones keep the colors from overwhelming and this piece has a nice matte finish so it looks like an oil painting. This painting is made on top of gold leaf. This is a very mixed media piece with gold leaf added on top of leather that has been bonded to the surface and elements are created using aluminum, copper and imitation gold leaf. There is actual texture and the added shadows imply even more depth. The gold is extended around the sides. This piece is also priced at $1275 for 2 and that includes shipping. The flow of complimentary colors remind me of the Red Planet. You can almost see the paints flowing and moving, blending and forming shapes. I imagine looking up from the forest floor and watching the aspen leaves float down and gently land on me. There is so much movement and beautiful earth tones in this acrylic painting on Claybord.
