New Galaxies Created

Hi Everyone
You may have been wondering where I have been, or not. I have been on a space exploration: discovering new worlds and creating new paintings of galaxies, nebula and alternative universes.
Oh yeah, and I have been all over teaching workshops from CO to OR and points in between. You will be seeing some work from my students posted so stay tuned. In the meantime here is a look at one of the galaxy paintings.

I have been inspired by science since I was a kid. I guess that's why I studied both art and science. I will be showing new work at the outdoor art fair in downtown Santa Fe with the Santa Fe Society of Artists. Look for me across from Starbucks on San Francisco Street. There are three painting in this series that incorporate layers of cast acrylic with imagery on all sides. The show, Bending Light is inspired by the dual nature of light. Images of light reflections through different materials are embedded into the art.

 Here is the new painting for Contemporary Hispanic Market. You are invited to the 25th show in downtown Santa Fe, NM on July 30-31 from 8-5 on Lincoln Ave. I am in booth #58. Song of the Trees

A lot has been happening to our planet. Artist sense changes and it is our job to bring to light these changes. The forests around Santa Fe have been burning. We are in extreme drought and there is record heat. Part of the country floods while the other half withers under the drought. I don't do landscape painting, but several paintings have found their way into my consciousness lately that bring to light the happenings of Mother Earth. I will be posting these over the next few weeks. Today looks like we could get some rain. The fires are under control and tomorrow always begins anew. Many blessings to you all.
