Playing With Plexi is a 6 hour class that I am teaching June 2 at the Create Mixed Media Retreat.

Plexi is my favorite new thing to paint on. You get instant depth and that waxy look of encaustic. We will play with gloss and matte mediums to create very different sheens within the layers. Transparent colors, gels, and pastes add even more depth. Transfers are fantastic on Plexiglas, and with some cool tools you can even carve, scratch, and etch into the surface. This is one fast class you will love, and it will translate to so many different genres, like sculpture or jewelry. You will learn about resist techniques, transfers, gels, and crackles.
